"Your sensitivity is too much; you need thicker skin to survive."
How it sounds in your head: You cry too easily, feel too deeply, get hurt too quickly. People say you're 'too sensitive' like it's a character defect. Your husband seems frustrated by your emotional responses. You wonder if you're emotionally broken compared to women who seem unshakable.
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
-- Ezekiel 36:26World's worship of stoicism and emotional detachment, shaming those with tender hearts.
You've been told to 'toughen up' since childhood, and your deep feeling nature exhausts you in a world that values emotional armor. Other women seem to brush off what devastates you, making you feel fundamentally weak.
Jeremiah wept so constantly he was called 'the weeping prophet' and cried 'Oh, that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears.' God didn't tell him to toughen up - He made him the prophet to nations and his words are Scripture.
I REFUSE the lie that my sensitivity is too much or requires thicker skin. IT IS WRITTEN that God removes hearts of stone and gives hearts of flesh - my tenderness is His design, not my defect. I was not made wrong. My tears are not weakness but the language of a heart alive to God's frequency. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wept at Lazarus' tomb even knowing He'd raise him. I receive the BARAK blessing over my emotional depth - blessed in my compassion, blessed in my empathy, blessed in feeling deeply. I am above only in my sensitivity, exactly as my Father fashioned me.
Your Father is RUNNING toward you with tissues in one hand and a crown in the other, celebrating that you inherited His tender heart while the world tried to give you stone. He's been saving every tear in a bottle because your sensitivity mirrors His own emotional intensity.
