"My sensitivity and emotional depth make me weak, unstable, and a burden to others."
How it sounds in your head: I feel everything so deeply—others' pain, rejection, tension in a room. I've been told I'm 'too sensitive,' that I need thicker skin. At 66, I still cry easily, still get overwhelmed. Maybe I really am just emotionally fragile, and God can't use someone this easily shaken.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35World mocks sensitivity as weakness; religion demands stoicism, making empaths feel defective.
She's been told to 'toughen up' her whole life. Every time she cries and someone looks uncomfortable, every relationship where she's been 'too much to handle,' confirms she's broken.
Jeremiah was called 'the weeping prophet'—he cried constantly, felt everything, was overwhelmed by Israel's pain. God didn't tell him to toughen up. He CHOSE him BECAUSE of his sensitivity and used those tears to speak to nations.
I REFUSE the lie that sensitivity is weakness. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus wept—my emotional depth reflects the heart of God Himself. I am not too much; I am ENOUGH LIKE CHRIST to feel what He feels. The enemy tried to shame me for tears, but IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out—with or without tissues. The BARAK blessing covers my sensitivity. I am not fragile. I am FIERCE with the compassion of Heaven, dangerous to darkness because I REFUSE to become numb. My tears are not instability. They are ANOINTING.
The Father isn't handing you thicker skin. He's whispering, 'Your softness is your strength—never apologize for a heart that feels like Mine.' He's celebrating every tear you've cried, bottling them like the treasure they are, throwing you a party for staying tender in a world that worships hardness.
