"You'll never be man enough. You don't have what it takes."
How it sounds in your head: Real men are strong, confident, successful. You're weak, anxious, confused. You don't know how to fix things, lead, provide, protect. You're a boy pretending to be a man and everyone can tell.
"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong."
-- 1 Corinthians 16:13Performance-based masculinity from culture that defines manhood by strength instead of sonship.
You don't have the muscle, the confidence, the answers, the money, or the plan. Other guys seem to have it figured out and you're faking it.
Timothy was young, timid, had stomach problems, and was told 'let no one despise your youth.' Paul didn't wait for him to toughen up—he made him a leader IMMEDIATELY and reminded him to fan the gift already IN him.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not man enough. IT IS WRITTEN that I stand fast in FAITH, that I am BRAVE, that I am STRONG. My manhood isn't defined by performance—it's defined by the Father's DECLARATION. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. The BARAK blessing makes me the HEAD and not the tail. I don't have to prove I'm a man—the Father already CALLS me son. Like Timothy, I don't wait to be ready—I AM ready because HE says so.
The Father isn't waiting for you to bulk up or man up. He's declaring over you what He declared over Jesus at the Jordan: 'This is My BELOVED SON in whom I am WELL PLEASED'—before Jesus did a single miracle.
