"Wanting wealth is greedy; godly men should be content with just enough."
How it sounds in your head: Paul said he learned to be content in all circumstances. Wanting more feels like ingratitude, like you're not trusting God with what He's already provided. Ambition feels carnal, not spiritual.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion twisted contentment into settling for less, ignoring Paul also said 'I can do all things' and received abundant provision.
You've been taught that humility means small dreams. Every financial goal feels selfish. Contentment became code for 'stop wanting more' instead of 'trust God while pursuing increase.'
Solomon asked for wisdom, not wealth. God said, 'I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.' God ADDED wealth Solomon didn't even request.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting wealth is greedy or ungodly. IT IS WRITTEN that God desires I prosper in ALL things—He's not threatened by my ambition for increase. I am blessed in my storehouses, and the Lord commands the blessing on all I set my hand to. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I receive God's abundance without guilt, stewarding it for Kingdom impact.
The Father didn't give the prodigal son 'just enough'—He gave him the ROBE, the RING, the SANDALS, and the FATTENED CALF. Abundance is His language of love, not punishment for wanting more.
