"Wanting financial success means I'm greedy and materialistic like those fake prosperity preachers."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I think about making real money or driving something nice, I feel dirty. Like I'm supposed to apologize for wanting more than minimum wage. Youth group made it sound like being broke is somehow more holy.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: Religion weaponizing poverty as false humility while leaders live comfortably.
He's seen televangelists exposed and churches guilt people for nice things while passing offering plates. Wanting wealth feels selfish when missionaries are supposedly suffering for Jesus.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold' and called God's friend. His wealth didn't make him carnal—it made him capable of blessing nations, and God INCREASED it throughout his life.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting prosperity is greedy. IT IS WRITTEN that God prays I prosper in ALL things. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, heir to the BARAK blessing that makes me the head and not the tail. My Father RUNS toward me with the robe and ring, not with poverty and shame. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus became poor so I might become RICH. I receive abundance without guilt because I'm a son, not a beggar.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to apologize for wanting provision—He's already prepared the fattened calf, the ring, the robe. He's RUNNING toward you with MORE than you can imagine, celebrating your desire to thrive because sons don't beg, they INHERIT.
