"Nice things are for other people, not someone like me"
How it sounds in your head: I look at women with beautiful homes, lovely things, financial freedom, and think 'that's for them.' I've never been that woman. I'm the one who makes do, who gets by, who watches others enjoy abundance. At this point in life, that's just who I am—the one who doesn't get nice things.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Identity lie says blessing is for 'special people,' not you—making covenant gift into earned privilege.
Decades of watching others receive while you didn't creates pattern belief. You've internalized 'not for me' as identity, and at 70+ it feels too late to change the story you've lived.
He was crippled, hiding, expecting nothing—called himself a 'dead dog.' David said 'You will eat at my table ALWAYS' and restored ALL Saul's land to him. From hiding to the king's table PERMANENTLY—not because he earned it, but because of COVENANT.
I REFUSE the lie that nice things are for other people, not me. IT IS WRITTEN: I am a NEW CREATION—old things PASSED AWAY, ALL things become NEW. The old story of 'not for me' is DEAD. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing is MINE by covenant. Mephibosheth called himself a dead dog and still ate at the king's table FOREVER—not by worthiness, but by COVENANT PROMISE. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed coming in and going out, above only and not beneath, the head and not the tail. The Father doesn't portion blessing by personality—He runs toward ALL His children with robe, ring, and feast. I am that beloved daughter, and nice things are MY INHERITANCE.
The Father doesn't have a 'nice things' list with some names and not others—He runs to EVERY prodigal with the best robe, the ring, the feast. You're not the exception; you're the BELOVED, and He's already prepared abundance for YOU.
