"Wanting financial freedom is selfish when so many people are suffering—I should give it all away."
How it sounds in your head: You see donation ads and feel crushed that you want a new phone when kids are starving. Every dollar you spend on yourself feels like stealing from someone who needs it more. How can you want abundance when the world is hurting?
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8False guilt from broken world systems, making you responsible for poverty you didn't create, twisting generosity into self-punishment.
The math feels obvious—your want versus their need. Choosing yourself feels monstrous when you're aware of global suffering. Comfort feels like complicity.
When surrounded by enemies, God fought for him and he collected spoils for THREE DAYS—so much wealth 'it was more than they could carry away.' God gave him overwhelming abundance not despite the crisis but IN it.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting financial freedom is selfish! IT IS WRITTEN that God makes grace abound so I have ALL SUFFICIENCY in ALL things and ABUNDANCE for every good work—I can't give what I don't have! The BARAK blessing on my life as Abraham's seed makes me the LENDER not the borrower so I can BLESS nations. IT IS WRITTEN that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous—God WANTS me prosperous! Jehoshaphat received three days' worth of spoils—overwhelming provision. I receive abundance WITHOUT GUILT, knowing overflow is the point!
The Father doesn't ask you to deplete yourself as proof of compassion—He runs toward you with SO MUCH that you become a distribution center of His goodness. He's already planning how your overflow will touch others, but He fills YOU first because you're His beloved daughter.
