"Wanting wealth means I don't trust God or have wrong priorities."
How it sounds in your head: Spiritual people pray for character and souls. You're praying for a better income and financial freedom. That means your heart is in the wrong place. If you really trusted God, you'd be content regardless of money. Your desire for wealth is evidence of spiritual immaturity.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Religious lie that spiritualizes poverty and demonizes God-given desires for provision and abundance.
You've heard 'seek first the kingdom' weaponized against financial goals. The desire for money feels carnal compared to 'higher' spiritual desires.
Jacob strategized to increase his flocks and 'became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.' God blessed his strategy for wealth—even though Jacob was a deceiver.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting wealth means I don't trust God. IT IS WRITTEN that God supplies all my need according to His RICHES in glory. The blessing of the Lord makes me rich. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed, heir to the BARAK that made him very rich. Jacob strategized for wealth and became exceedingly prosperous—God blessed it. My desire for financial freedom isn't carnality—it's covenant. I trust God BY receiving His abundance, not by refusing it. The Father runs toward me with provision, not poverty.
Your Father isn't testing your spirituality by keeping you broke. He's the one who put the desire for provision in you, and He's ready to flood it the moment you stop calling His blessing 'worldly.'
