"Wanting financial abundance is selfish when others are struggling and in need."
How it sounds in your head: You've made enough for a decent life. Your parents survived on far less. Who are you to want more when people are homeless? Real men sacrifice—they don't accumulate. Wanting abundance means you're greedy and self-centered.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion twisted Jesus' poverty and taught that lack equals holiness while abundance equals sin.
You've watched your parents' generation settle for enough and call it virtue. The guilt intensifies when you see actual suffering, making your desires feel trivial and narcissistic compared to real need.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold'—this AFTER lying twice about his wife. God didn't make him poor to teach humility; He made him wealthy WHILE he was still flawed, because the blessing was COVENANT, not character.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting abundance is selfish. IT IS WRITTEN that God PRAYS for my prosperity in ALL things. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, heir according to PROMISE, and the BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not behavior. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse so the blessing of Abraham would come upon me. My abundance doesn't diminish others—it positions me to be a conduit of blessing. I receive prosperity without guilt because my Father RUNS toward me with the fattened calf, not the lecture about starving children.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to feel guilty enough to deserve less—He's running toward you with RING, ROBE, and RESOURCES. While you're still smelling like the pig pen of lack mentality, He's already commanded the blessing on your storehouses because you're His BELOVED son.
