"Wanting abundance is selfish when so many have nothing."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I dream of more—a better home, financial breathing room, a family vacation—I feel guilty. Who am I to want abundance when children are starving? My desires feel selfish and indulgent.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion taught you that poverty equals holiness and wanting more makes you greedy.
You've heard countless sermons about the rich young ruler and storing up treasures in heaven, all implying wanting more is spiritual failure. Social media shows suffering constantly, making your desires feel trivial and self-centered.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold'—not despite his faith but because of covenant blessing. God made him wealthy so he could be a blessing, and the same Abrahamic blessing is YOURS through Christ (Galatians 3:14).
I REFUSE the lie that wanting abundance is selfish! IT IS WRITTEN that my Father prays I prosper in ALL things. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, heir to the BARAK blessing that protected and prospered him even when he lied. My desires for abundance don't disqualify me—they align with my Father's heart! IT IS WRITTEN that God gives us richly all things to enjoy. I receive without guilt, prosper without shame, and overflow to bless others from HIS infinite supply!
Your Father is running toward you with the fattened calf, the robe, the ring—symbols of ABUNDANCE freely given. He's not waiting for you to minimize your desires; He's preparing overflow because delighting His daughter brings Him joy.
