"Others need the money more than I do at this stage."
How it sounds in your head: I see young families struggling, ministries needing support, people losing homes. How can I keep what I have when they need it more? Every dollar I spend on myself feels selfish when it could help someone else.
"Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him."
-- Matthew 6:8Source: False guilt from religious teaching that equates self-care with selfishness and positions need as a hierarchy.
She genuinely sees real needs around her and feels guilty for having when others don't. The church praised those who gave everything away as the most Christlike.
She was in crushing debt with creditors taking her sons. Elisha didn't tell her to give her oil away to needier people—he multiplied it until she had enough to pay ALL her debts PLUS live on the surplus. INSTANT, COMPLETE provision.
I REFUSE the lie that receiving provision steals from others. IT IS WRITTEN that MY Father knows what I need—and His resources aren't limited. The widow with oil paid HER debts first, then had surplus. IT IS WRITTEN that God supplies ALL my need according to HIS RICHES in glory—riches that don't run out when He blesses someone else. I am under the BARAK covenant blessing—blessed in my storehouses, blessed in all I set my hand to. I receive FULL provision without guilt, knowing my Father has MORE THAN ENOUGH for everyone.
Your Father isn't rationing Heaven's supply. He's not choosing between you and someone else—He has ABUNDANCE for ALL His children. Receiving what He wants to give you doesn't rob anyone else. He's running toward you AND them with FULL provision.
