"Tithing is Old Testament law—New Testament believers give freely, not by obligation."
How it sounds in your head: You're not under law anymore. That 10% rule was for Israel. Jesus freed you from that religious requirement. You can give what feels right when you feel led, without legalistic percentages.
"Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives."
-- Hebrews 7:8Religion: Using grace as excuse for less generosity, when New Covenant is BETTER covenant with BETTER promises.
You studied enough to know law versus grace. Tithing appears in Leviticus, and Galatians says you're not under law. Logic says New Covenant means no required percentage.
Abraham gave Melchizedek a tithe of ALL the spoils before Law existed, establishing covenant pattern. This wasn't obligation—it was relationship with the priest of God Most High, and blessing followed him everywhere.
I REFUSE the lie that grace exempts me from generosity covenant. IT IS WRITTEN that Abraham tithed 430 years before Law, establishing relationship not requirement. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, connected to Melchizedek priesthood forever. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus receives my tithes now, as He lives eternally. The BARAK blessing flows through covenant generosity. I honor the BETTER covenant with BETTER giving, not less. My tithe connects me to eternal priesthood.
The Father didn't bring you into LESS blessing than Abraham—He brought you into MORE through His Son's blood. The same covenant generosity that made Abraham incredibly wealthy is yours NOW through better promises.
