"If I give away money now, I won't have enough for emergencies or future needs."
How it sounds in your head: What if my car breaks down? What if I lose my job? I need to build an emergency fund first before I can be generous. Giving now feels reckless when there's no safety net.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: World's fear-based planning that makes hoarding feel like wisdom and trust feel like foolishness.
Emergencies are real and unpredictable. Having a cushion is smart adulting, and giving it away leaves me exposed to disaster with no backup plan.
God provided manna daily but when they tried hoarding extra for future security, it bred worms and stank. God wanted them to trust Him for tomorrow's provision, not stockpile in fear.
I REFUSE the lie that I must hoard for future emergencies. IT IS WRITTEN that my God SHALL supply ALL my need according to HIS riches in glory—not according to my savings account balance. The Israelites who hoarded manna out of fear watched it rot; God wants trust, not stockpiling. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper. The BARAK that protected Jacob through 20 years of exile and brought him home wealthy is mine. My future emergencies are already covered by a Father who knows what I need before I ask.
Your Father sees the 'what ifs' that keep you up at night, and He's not worried. While you're building emergency funds, He's already dispatched angels and opened bank accounts in heaven with your name on them for every future need you can't predict.
