"Generous people are just naive and get taken advantage of financially."
How it sounds in your head: Every 'generous' person I know struggles with money because people use them. Being wise with money means protecting it, not giving it away to every sob story. Generosity is for people who can afford to be burned.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Source: trauma from seeing generosity exploited; world's protective scarcity mindset disguised as wisdom.
I've watched generous people get burned by freeloaders and manipulators. Protecting resources feels smarter than being an easy target—only fools give without boundaries.
In DEEP POVERTY and great trial, they gave BEYOND their ability with such joy that Paul had to restrain them—didn't get used or depleted. Their extreme poverty overflowed into RICH GENEROSITY, and God's grace was EVIDENT on them—supernatural abundance IN poverty.
I REFUSE the lie that generosity makes me a victim. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes all grace abound toward me so I have sufficiency in ALL things. The Macedonians gave beyond ability from poverty and were BLESSED, not exploited. I am led by the Spirit, not manipulated by man—Holy Spirit directs my generosity with wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN my reward is great when I give expecting nothing back. I'm under the BARAK covenant blessing that MULTIPLIES what I sow and protects what I have. Generosity doesn't deplete me—it positions me for SUPERNATURAL INCREASE. I give with JOY and wisdom, covered by Heaven's unlimited supply.
Your Father isn't setting you up to be used—He's inviting you into SPIRIT-LED generosity that He HIMSELF backs with sufficiency in all things. The prodigal's Father gave EXTRAVAGANTLY even knowing it might be wasted, because LOVE gives without self-protection.
