"Tithing and giving more will unlock God's financial blessings for me."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe if you give more, God will finally open the windows of heaven. You're not tithing on gross income—that's the problem. Sow a seed and watch God move. Your lack proves you're not giving enough.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious works theology; twisting Malachi 3:10 (Old Covenant) into New Covenant requirement; prosperity preaching manipulation.
Malachi 3:10 explicitly connects giving with windows of heaven opening. Preachers you've trusted for decades teach this. Others testify to breakthrough after sacrificial giving, so maybe your giving isn't sacrificial enough.
They were in EXTREME POVERTY and DEEP affliction, yet gave with ABUNDANCE of joy beyond their ability. They didn't give TO GET—they gave FROM joy while still poor, and Paul celebrated their GRACE, not their unlocking of wealth.
I REFUSE the lie that my giving unlocks God's provision as if He's a vending machine. IT IS WRITTEN that God is ABLE to make all grace abound—it's His ability, not my trigger. I am ALREADY blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). The BARAK blessing flows from COVENANT, not calculation. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:32, 'He who did not spare His own Son, how shall He not with Him also freely GIVE us all things?' He already gave JESUS—everything else is included. I give from joy and overflow, not from fear or manipulation. The Father doesn't need my tithe to release His storehouse; His storehouse was opened at Calvary. I receive supernatural provision based on HIS faithfulness, not my percentage. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and blessed beyond my giving.
The Father didn't wait for the prodigal to tithe from the pig farm before releasing the robe and ring. He gave EVERYTHING while the son gave NOTHING. That's the scandal of grace—blessing based on relationship, not transaction.
