"I should never ask for financial help because that shows a lack of faith and independence."
How it sounds in your head: If I ask for help, people will think I'm weak or irresponsible. Maybe asking for help means I don't trust God enough to provide on His own. I should be able to handle this myself.
"Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need."
-- Acts 2:44-45Source: World promoting self-sufficiency and independence, contradicting biblical community and interdependence.
She's been taught that needing help is shameful and that faith means handling everything alone. She confuses independence with strength and community with weakness.
During famine, God sent ravens to feed Elijah twice daily—supernatural provision THROUGH CREATION. Later, He sent Elijah to a widow—provision THROUGH PEOPLE. God uses BOTH; receiving isn't lack of faith.
I REFUSE the lie that asking for help shows weakness or lack of faith. IT IS WRITTEN that the body of Christ is designed to bear one another's burdens—Galatians 6:2. I am not an island; I am part of a FAMILY. Receiving is not shame—it's KINGDOM DESIGN. IT IS WRITTEN that God provides through His people—Acts 2:44-45. I receive help without guilt, knowing that provision flows through COMMUNITY and that my worth isn't tied to my self-sufficiency. I am LOVED, not because I'm independent, but because I'm His CHILD.
The Father doesn't admire your isolation; He designed you for COMMUNITY. Right now, He's not testing your independence—He's inviting you into INTERDEPENDENCE, where His provision flows freely through His people.
