"This sickness is punishment for past sin or generational curse I haven't broken."
How it sounds in your head: You've done things you're not proud of—maybe decades ago, maybe recently. You've wondered if your grandmother's illness is now yours, if you're paying for your mother's choices, if that abortion or affair or rebellion opened a door that's now manifesting as disease.
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:14Religious teaching mixing Old Covenant generational curses with New Covenant reality, making you responsible for breaking what Christ already broke.
You see patterns of the same diseases running through your family, and spiritual warfare teaching has convinced you that you must identify and renounce every generational sin or stay bound to its consequences.
Disciples asked 'who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' assuming sickness was punishment. Jesus said 'NEITHER—but that the works of God should be revealed.' He spit, made mud, anointed his eyes, and the man born blind IMMEDIATELY received sight.
I REFUSE the lie that this sickness is punishment for past sin. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ wiped out every requirement against me and nailed it to the cross. There is NOW no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Generational curses were broken at Calvary; I don't break what Jesus already broke. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed, redeemed from the curse of the law. The BARAK blessing covers me—it protected liars, deceivers, and murderers, and it protects me. Past sin has no legal authority over present health. I receive instant healing as the man born blind did.
The Father isn't holding your past against you—He threw it into the sea of forgetfulness and removed it as far as east is from west. He's running toward you with healing and calling you 'daughter,' not 'guilty,' not 'punished,' not 'cursed.'
