How it sounds in your head: Everyone says 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.' Maybe I need to be sick for a while to become who God wants me to be. Maybe I'm not strong enough yet, and this is how I get there.

She hears 'God won't waste your pain' and 'you'll be stronger after this,' which sounds encouraging and redemptive. It makes her suffering feel purposeful and makes God seem involved rather than distant.
God sent Isaiah to tell him 'set your house in order, for you SHALL die' from his sickness—then Hezekiah prayed, and God ADDED 15 years to his life. Sickness was leading to death, not character; healing was God's will.
I REFUSE the lie that God is using sickness to build my character. IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father, and disease is NOT a good gift—it's a curse Jesus redeemed me from. The Holy Spirit builds my character through His fruit, not through viruses and bacteria attacking my body. IT IS WRITTEN that I am God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works—He created me FOR works, not sickness. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK that protected even when they sinned. My Father develops me through His Word and His Spirit, not through disease and pain.
Your Father isn't infecting you to improve you—He sent the Holy Spirit to transform you from glory to glory while you walk in HEALTH. He's not holding healing ransom until your character meets His standards; He's pouring out both healing and transformation because that's who He is.
