"I must have unconfessed sin; that's why God hasn't healed me yet."
How it sounds in your head: I've prayed for months and nothing changes. The elders anointed me and I'm still sick. There must be hidden sin blocking God's power. Maybe that thing I did in 1952. Maybe secret pride.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Performance-based religion that makes healing contingent on sinless perfection rather than Christ's finished work.
He's searched his memory for every possible sin, confessed repeatedly, yet remains sick. This confirms the lie that he's missed something and God is withholding until he finds it.
Friends lowered a paralyzed man through a roof to Jesus. Jesus' first words: 'Your sins are forgiven.' Then IMMEDIATELY: 'Rise, take up your bed and walk.' Forgiveness and healing came as ONE GIFT in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that hidden sin blocks God's healing. IT IS WRITTEN that He has forgiven ALL my trespasses and nailed every accusation to the cross. There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My healing is not a reward for perfection—it's a covenant benefit of His righteousness GIVEN to me. IT IS WRITTEN I am the righteousness of God in Christ. The BARAK blessing doesn't operate on my performance but His promise. I receive healing NOW as a gift of grace.
Your Father isn't playing hide-and-seek with your sins, waiting to heal you when you find them all. He's already forgiven what you CAN'T remember and healed you at Calvary.
