"This diabetes is my thorn in the flesh to keep me humble."
How it sounds in your head: Paul had his thorn. I have my diabetes. It keeps me dependent on God, reminds me I'm not invincible. Maybe God knows I'd become arrogant if I were perfectly healthy at this age.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Misinterpretation of 2 Corinthians 12:7 has made millions accept preventable suffering as God's humility curriculum.
Religious tradition equates any chronic condition with Paul's thorn. A lifetime of self-reliance as a man makes humility seem to require physical limitation.
Crippled in both feet from age five, living in exile—David RESTORED him to the king's table permanently, gave him all Saul's land, treated him as a son. Disability didn't keep him humble; GRACE elevated him despite it.
I REFUSE the lie that diabetes is divine discipline. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I was healed—not humbled, HEALED. Paul's thorn was a messenger of Satan, and I have authority over every satanic messenger. The BARAK blessing flowing through Christ's blood declares me blessed in my body, above only and not beneath. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus—my pancreas responds to resurrection power, not religious resignation. I am seated with Christ, and from that position I command healing into this body.
Your Father isn't managing your blood sugar to manage your ego—He's offering total healing to display His goodness. The Father ran to the prodigal who reeked of pigs; He's running to you with the robe of health, not the chains of chronic disease.
