"My depression and anxiety are consequences of my past sin that I must endure."
How it sounds in your head: You partied hard in high school, slept around, did drugs. Now you're saved but the depression lingers. Leaders say 'you reap what you sow' - maybe this mental anguish is just the natural consequence of your choices, and grace doesn't erase consequences.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Religion teaches grace forgives but consequences remain, making people accept ongoing punishment for pre-salvation sin.
The timeline matches - depression started during your wild phase. It feels like cause-and-effect, like you broke your brain and now must live with it.
King Manasseh did MORE EVIL than pagan nations - witchcraft, child sacrifice, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yet when he humbled himself, God heard his plea and RESTORED him to kingdom with NO lingering consequences of his abominations.
I REFUSE the lie that I must endure depression as consequence of past sin. IT IS WRITTEN: Psalm 103:12 - my transgressions are removed as far as east from west. There is NO CONNECTION between my old life and my new creation identity. IT IS WRITTEN: 2 Corinthians 5:17 - I am NEW CREATION; old things PASSED AWAY, not 'faded gradually.' Manasseh murdered children and practiced witchcraft, yet God RESTORED him fully when he repented - my past partying doesn't disqualify me from FULL mental health. I am blessed with Abraham's barak (Galatians 3:14) which protected him even when he LIED twice. My mind is renewed, chemicals balanced, peace floods my thoughts NOW. Depression and anxiety have NO LEGAL RIGHT to torment me - Jesus' blood speaks better things than consequences. I am FREE.
Father isn't making you serve time for pre-salvation sin - He threw Manasseh's child sacrifices as far as east from west and RESTORED him completely. You're getting the ring and robe, not probation.
