THE LIE Addiction as Identity

"This addiction is a disease I can never cure, only manage"

How it sounds in your head: The counselors say it's a brain disease like diabetes - something I'll have to manage my whole life. That means I'll never actually be free, just constantly controlling it. It feels like a life sentence.

IT IS WRITTEN 1 Peter 2:24

"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed."

Enemy whispers: It's a disease you can only manage, never cure. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 1 Peter 2:24 - By His stripes you WERE healed. Not 'being healed' or 'will manage symptoms.' WERE. Past tense. Finished. Jesus didn't die to help you manage diseases - He died to HEAL them. The man born blind didn't get vision management strategies - Jesus made eyes that NEVER EXISTED and he saw INSTANTLY.

Quick Truth: LIE: Incurable disease I manage forever. TRUTH: By His stripes you WERE healed (1 Pet 2:24). Not managing symptoms - HEALED, past tense, finished.

WHERE THIS LIE COMES FROM

Medical model replacing supernatural redemption with natural disease management, making Jesus insufficient and keeping people in permanent 'sick' identity instead of healed.

Why this feels true:

Doctors and therapists use disease language which sounds scientific and official, plus brain scans show changes that seem permanent. She doesn't realize Jesus created brains and can rewire them instantly just like He grew eyes that never existed.

THE BIBLICAL PRECEDENT John 9:1-7

Man born blind

Born with NO EYES, not broken eyes - missing organs, genetic condition, medically impossible to fix. Jesus made mud, touched him, and INSTANTLY he had fully functioning eyes that never existed, with zero recovery period or vision therapy needed.

I REFUSE the lie that I have an incurable disease. IT IS WRITTEN by His stripes I WAS healed - past tense, finished work, not management plan. Jesus doesn't do symptom control - He does RESURRECTION POWER. The man born blind had no eyes and Jesus CREATED them instantly. IT IS WRITTEN Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE, not managed sickness. My brain, my body, my chemistry - all instantly renewable by the One who spoke galaxies into existence. I am not diseased - I am HEALED and WHOLE in Christ.
