"The enemy is too strong for me to overcome in my own strength."
How it sounds in your head: These attacks feel overwhelming. The enemy seems relentless and I feel weak. Every time I try to stand, I get knocked down. Maybe some people are built for spiritual warfare, but I'm constantly losing. I'm just not strong enough.
"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."
-- Colossians 2:15Source: Enemy magnifying his power while minimizing the victory of the cross, making warfare about your strength versus his.
The battles feel intense and you keep falling to the same temptations or fears. When you look at the size of the attack versus your willpower, the math doesn't add up in your favor, so retreat feels more realistic than victory.
Gideon faced an army of 135,000 Midianites with only 300 men—outnumbered 450 to 1. God intentionally reduced his army so Israel couldn't claim their own strength won the battle. Gideon's men didn't even fight—they blew trumpets and held torches while God caused the enemy to turn on each other. Instant, overwhelming victory with zero combat.
I REFUSE the lie that the enemy is too strong for me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus has DISARMED principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them at the cross. I am not fighting a powerful enemy—I am enforcing the victory of a defeated foe. IT IS WRITTEN that He who is in me is GREATER than he who is in the world—not slightly greater, but infinitely superior. The same BARAK blessing that caused 135,000 enemies to kill each other while Gideon's 300 just watched operates in my life. I don't overcome in MY strength—I overcome by the BLOOD of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. The enemy is already disarmed; I'm just reminding him of what Jesus did.
The Father isn't asking you to be strong enough—He's asking you to stand behind the Son who already crushed the serpent's head. You're not the warrior earning victory; you're the son holding the victory trophy your Brother already won.
