"The enemy is too strong for me. I don't know how to fight spiritual battles."
How it sounds in your head: When scary thoughts come or bad things happen, you feel helpless. You don't know the right prayers or spiritual techniques. Other Christians seem to know secret formulas you haven't learned yet.
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
-- Luke 10:19Enemy intimidation tactic combined with religious teaching that makes spiritual warfare complicated instead of simple authority.
Dark thoughts feel overwhelming and you don't know how to make them stop. Adults have books and seminars on spiritual warfare, making it seem like advanced knowledge you don't possess.
Jehoshaphat faced three massive armies—impossible odds. He didn't even fight. The moment they began to worship, God set ambushes and the enemies destroyed each other completely. It took three days just to collect all the plunder.
I REFUSE the lie that the enemy is too strong for me. IT IS WRITTEN that I have authority over ALL the power of the enemy and nothing can hurt me. The Name of Jesus is above EVERY name, and at that Name every demon must bow. IT IS WRITTEN that greater is He in me than he who is in the world. I don't fight in my own strength—the battle belongs to the Lord. I am under the BARAK covenant blessing where God defeats my enemies before me and they flee seven ways. Satan is already defeated at the cross. I enforce victory, I don't fight for it.
The Father has already defeated every enemy you'll ever face. He's not asking you to be strong enough—He's inviting you to stand behind HIS strength while He fights for you like He did for Jehoshaphat.
