"The Bible is full of contradictions and errors. I can't trust it anymore."
How it sounds in your head: Two creation accounts. Four gospels that don't align. Paul contradicting James. Historical anachronisms. Genealogies that don't match. I see it now—the human fingerprints, the political agendas, the cultural conditioning. How can this be 'the Word of God'?
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
-- Hebrews 4:12Enemy: confusing the inerrancy DOCTRINE with the Living Word Himself, making your faith dependent on textual perfection.
You've done the homework. You've seen the scholarly consensus on authorship, dating, editing. The Bible you were told was dictated by God looks more like a library compiled by humans. Your fundamentalist framework can't hold this information.
Reading Isaiah, confused, asking questions, not understanding. Philip explained ONE passage, and the eunuch believed, was baptized, and went away REJOICING—all in one chariot ride. No systematic theology degree required, no resolution of every textual problem—just encounter with the Living Word.
I REFUSE the lie that textual complexity destroys divine revelation. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The word of God is LIVING and powerful.' I'm not defending a text; I'm encountering a Person. The Bible isn't God—Jesus is. Scripture is the menu, not the meal; the sign pointing to the destination, not the destination itself. IT IS WRITTEN: 'You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me' (John 5:39). I am covered by the BARAK blessing—not because I have perfect doctrine, but because I'm in covenant with the Living Word. My Father speaks through human words without being limited by them.
Your Father isn't panicking about manuscript variants. He's been speaking through imperfect human vessels for millennia—that's the POINT. He chose to reveal Himself through fishermen, tax collectors, and tentmakers, not scribes with PhDs. The mess is the message: He uses the weak, the flawed, the human.
