"Science has disproven the Bible, and I can't ignore evolution and cosmology."
How it sounds in your head: You've studied biology, you understand natural selection, you know the age of the universe. The seven-day creation feels like mythology, and choosing faith feels like choosing ignorance. You don't want to be the person who rejects science for an ancient text.
"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."
-- Colossians 1:16-17Source: The world system positioned science and faith as enemies instead of complementary, forcing a false choice between intellect and worship.
The evidence for an old earth and evolutionary processes seems overwhelming, and the church's young-earth insistence feels like willful ignorance. You respect science and don't want to deny observable reality for religious comfort.
Daniel and his friends were trained in all the literature and language of the Babylonians—the cutting-edge science and philosophy of their day—and God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. When tested, the king found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers, proving faith and intellect aren't enemies but allies.
I REFUSE the lie that science and faith are enemies. IT IS WRITTEN that by Jesus all things were created and in Him all things hold together—the natural laws I study are His invention and His maintenance. I do not have to choose between my brain and my Bible; the same God gave me both. IT IS WRITTEN that the heavens declare His glory, and every discovery in biology, physics, and cosmology is simply uncovering more of His genius. I reject the false dichotomy that curiosity equals unbelief. The BARAK blessing includes wisdom and understanding, and I walk in both scientific inquiry and spiritual revelation as complementary gifts from the same Source.
The Father isn't intimidated by your biology degree or your questions about the age of the earth—He's the one who embedded those mysteries for you to explore. He's running toward you with the revelation that He's big enough to create through whatever processes He chose, and small enough to care about every question you're wrestling with.
