"I've seen too much hypocrisy in the church to believe the message."
How it sounds in your head: The pastor who married you is divorced. The elder who led Bible study got caught in an affair. The worship leader embezzled. The people who talked loudest about family values abandoned theirs. If this is what Christianity produces, why would you want it?
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."
-- Psalm 118:8Enemy conflating human failure with divine character, plus religious systems that promised perfection instead of preaching grace.
You've witnessed firsthand the gap between Sunday morning performance and Monday morning reality. Betrayals by church leaders wounded you personally, and the institution covered up rather than repented.
David—the man after God's own heart—committed adultery with Bathsheba, then murdered her husband to cover it up. God confronted him through Nathan, David repented, and God still called him beloved and kept him in the Messianic line. Hypocrisy didn't disqualify him from grace.
I REFUSE the lie that human failure disproves divine truth. IT IS WRITTEN that it's better to trust in the LORD than in man—not because men are perfect but because only God is. David committed adultery and murder and stayed in the Messianic line. The BARAK blessing covers failures, liars, and hypocrites—that's the whole point. IT IS WRITTEN that there's no condemnation for those in Christ. Church people need grace as much as I do. I'm not following them; I'm following HIM.
The Father isn't defending the hypocrites—He's exposing them so you'll stop trusting broken people and start trusting Him. He's running toward you with authentic relationship, not religious performance, ready to show you what real love looks like.
