"She has so many friends - I must be unlikeable or weird"
How it sounds in your head: She walks down the hall and everyone knows her name. Group chats you're not in, parties you don't get invited to, inside jokes you don't understand. You must be too awkward, too quiet, too something wrong. If you were worth knowing, people would want to know you.
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."
-- John 15:16Enemy measuring your worth by other people's opinions instead of God's finished verdict.
You can count her friends and your lack of them. Social proof feels like actual proof - if people wanted you, they'd pick you, right?
Joseph's brothers HATED him, couldn't speak peaceably to him, sold him into slavery. He was the most rejected person in his family. God used that exact rejection to position him as second-in-command of Egypt and the savior of nations. The people who rejected him ended up bowing to him.
I REFUSE the lie that being unpopular means being unlikeable. IT IS WRITTEN that I didn't choose Jesus - He CHOSE me and appointed me before the world began. IT IS WRITTEN in Zephaniah 3:17 that He rejoices over me with singing - the God of the universe sings over ME. The BARAK blessing doesn't increase when I get more followers; it's CONSTANT because it's COVENANT. I am not too awkward. I am not too weird. I am not unchosen. I am CHOSEN, APPOINTED, CELEBRATED by the One whose opinion is the only one that's eternal. I don't need everyone's approval when I have the King's delight.
The Father doesn't measure your worth by who sits with you at lunch - He measured it by what He paid on the cross. He's not waiting for you to be more likeable to love you; He's already singing over you, already rejoicing, already completely captivated by you.
