"They're naturally smart and get good grades; I'm just dumb and failing."
How it sounds in your head: School comes easy to them—they don't even study and still ace tests. I work hard and still fail. Maybe I'm just not smart enough. Maybe I'm the dumb one in every class.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
-- James 1:5Enemy accusation attacking identity through academic performance, rejecting God-given wisdom for worldly measures.
Different learning styles aren't recognized in standardized testing, and grades feel like public scorecards of intelligence. Struggling while others succeed feels like proof of inferior capability.
Solomon admitted he was like a LITTLE CHILD who didn't know how to govern. He asked for wisdom, and God gave him MORE wisdom than anyone before or after—INSTANTLY, not after years of study, plus wealth and honor he didn't even ask for.
I REFUSE the lie that grades determine my intelligence or value. IT IS WRITTEN that if I lack wisdom, I ask God who gives LIBERALLY without reproach. I am NOT defined by test scores or academic performance. IT IS WRITTEN that I have the MIND OF CHRIST. God's wisdom is available to me RIGHT NOW, not after I prove myself. I receive supernatural understanding, creativity, and insight because the Spirit of God lives IN ME. I am WISE because I am IN CHRIST.
Your Father doesn't see your report card and shake His head—He sees a son filled with HIS Spirit and runs toward you with wisdom greater than Solomon's. You don't earn intelligence; you RECEIVE it from the One who created every atom in the universe.
