"Rich people are just different from people like me and always will be"
How it sounds in your head: The kids at school with nice shoes, big houses, family vacations—they're just different. They have something I don't. Some people are born to be rich and some aren't. I'm in the 'aren't' category.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."
-- 2 Corinthians 8:9World system creates class identity to hide the truth that in Christ there is no class distinction.
He observes real differences in what other families have versus what his has. The gap feels permanent and genetic, like being born tall or short.
Mephibosheth was a crippled, forgotten grandson hiding in poverty in Lo Debar. King David summoned him and INSTANTLY restored ALL of Saul's wealth to him, gave him permanent seat at the king's table, treated him as a royal son—from hiding in poverty to eating with royalty in ONE DAY.
I REFUSE the lie that rich and poor are different breeds of people. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus became poor so I could become RICH. This isn't about my family's history or my bank account—this is about a divine exchange at the cross. IT IS WRITTEN: I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all principality and power (Eph 2:6). The BARAK blessing that made Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob wealthy operates in me NOW. I am not defined by lack. I am defined by covenant. God sees me as His son with FULL access to the inheritance, and that includes financial abundance.
Your Father doesn't categorize His kids by income brackets. He's pulling you to the table RIGHT NOW, placing you in the seat of honor, declaring you are royalty, pouring abundance over you before you've done anything to deserve it.
