"I'll never be able to afford the things other kids have or the life they live"
How it sounds in your head: I see what other kids get for Christmas, their birthday parties, their vacations. My family can't do that. Even when I grow up and work, I'll probably never be able to afford the stuff they have. That life just isn't for people like me.
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly."
-- Psalm 84:11Enemy uses comparison and materialism to create false scarcity thinking that denies covenant provision.
The gap between what he has and what others have feels permanent. His experiences tell him certain things are 'for other people,' not for him, creating a poverty ceiling in his mind.
This family ran out of wine at their wedding—total social embarrassment, financial disaster. Jesus turned SIX STONE JARS of water into 180 GALLONS of the BEST wine anyone had ever tasted—INSTANT provision, PREMIUM quality, MORE than enough, at a moment's notice with nothing but water and one word.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll never afford the good things. IT IS WRITTEN: NO good thing will God withhold from me. He doesn't give me scraps—He gives ABUNDANCE. IT IS WRITTEN: my God supplies ALL my needs according to HIS riches in glory (Phil 4:19). The BARAK blessing isn't about getting by—it's about OVERFLOW. Jesus didn't give cheap wine. He gave the FINEST wine in EXTRAVAGANT quantity. The Father split the Red Sea, rained manna from heaven, brought water from rocks. If He did that for Israel under the OLD covenant, how much MORE does He provide for me under the BETTER covenant bought with Jesus's blood? I am not limited by lack. I am defined by abundance.
Your Father isn't rationing blessings or keeping the good stuff from you. He's preparing abundance RIGHT NOW—not the cheap version, but the BEST version—running toward you with arms full of good gifts before you even ask, delighting in giving you more than you imagined possible.
