"Real change takes years of therapy and hard work. Instant freedom is naive and irresponsible."
How it sounds in your head: You've been told healing is a journey—layers to unpack, trauma to process, neural pathways to rewire. Anyone claiming instant freedom is either lying or setting themselves up for failure. You feel guilty for even hoping it could be fast because 'responsible recovery' means slow, steady work.
"So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them."
-- Luke 4:39Source: Psychological model that makes human process trump divine power—reduces the Gospel to therapy and makes Jesus a helpful tool instead of a MIRACLE-WORKING SAVIOR.
Therapists, doctors, and even pastors emphasize 'the process.' You've seen people claim victory too soon and crash. Slow feels safer, more humble, more realistic.
He was blind from BIRTH—never saw a sunset, a face, color. No therapy, no process, no gradual improvement. Jesus put mud on his eyes, he washed, and INSTANTLY saw for the first time in his life. The Pharisees interrogated him for chapters trying to explain it away. His answer: 'I was blind; now I SEE.'
I REFUSE the lie that change requires years of process. IT IS WRITTEN: IMMEDIATELY she arose—Jesus doesn't do slow when He does SUDDEN. I honor process, but I don't LIMIT God to it. IT IS WRITTEN: With God NOTHING is impossible. I don't need a decade to be free; I need ONE ENCOUNTER with the Delivering God. Lazarus didn't gradually improve in the tomb—he walked out WHOLE at the sound of Jesus' voice. I am not dismissing therapy; I am BELIEVING for miracles. I can be different TODAY because the SAME Jesus who opened blind eyes LIVES IN ME.
The Father isn't offended by your hunger for instant breakthrough—He's the ONE who specializes in it. He turned water to wine in a MOMENT, fed thousands with a boy's lunch, and split seas with a word. He's not insulted by your faith for suddenness. He's MOVED by it.
