"I'm powerless over this. The disease controls me and always will."
How it sounds in your head: They told you at rehab it's a disease, chronic and incurable. You manage it, but you're never free. Your brain chemistry is permanently altered. You're dependent on meetings, sponsors, and constant vigilance because you're fundamentally powerless.
"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
-- 1 John 4:4Medical model that replaced spiritual authority with victim identity, denying Christ's complete deliverance.
Medical professionals diagnosed it as a disease. Insurance companies treat it like diabetes. If it's biological, how can faith change biology? You've felt the compulsion—it didn't feel like a choice.
The demoniac was so violent chains couldn't hold him; he lived naked among tombs cutting himself. One encounter with Jesus and he was INSTANTLY clothed, in his right mind, sitting peacefully—no rehab, no transition house, no 90-day program.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm powerless. IT IS WRITTEN that greater is He who is in me than any force in this world. I am not a victim of brain chemistry—I am indwelt by the Spirit of the Living God who raises the dead and commands storms to cease. This addiction has NO authority over me because I carry the authority of Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. I am not managing a disease—I am walking in supernatural freedom that belongs to me by covenant.
The Father isn't asking you to white-knuckle your way through life. He placed His own Spirit inside you—the same power that raised Christ from the dead—to give you effortless victory from the INSIDE OUT. You're not fighting for freedom; you're fighting FROM freedom.
