"I have a disease I can't cure - I'm powerless against this"
How it sounds in your head: They say it's a disease, genetic, a brain thing. Which means I'm basically broken hardware. I can manage it but never actually WIN. Powerless is literally step one. I'll be fighting this monster my whole life and the best I can hope for is a draw.

Neuroscience shows actual brain changes from addiction. Family history shows patterns. Every expert says 'disease you manage, not cure.' Admitting powerlessness is literally the first step of every program.
Born blind - genetic, 'incurable,' everyone said it was about sin (his or parents'). Jesus said it was for God's glory, spit in dirt, one moment and the man BORN with the condition was INSTANTLY healed. Genetic doesn't mean permanent to God.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm powerless victim to a disease. IT IS WRITTEN: I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead LIVES IN ME, giving life to my mortal body. IT IS WRITTEN that God gave me a spirit of POWER, love, and a SOUND MIND - not defeat and disease. I am NOT defined by brain chemistry or family history. I am a NEW CREATION with Christ's POWER flowing through me. Under the BARAK, the blessing of Abraham is MINE through Christ - enemies defeated before me, victory commanded. I am NOT POWERLESS. I am CHRIST-EMPOWERED.
Father doesn't see you as diseased and helpless. He sees you the way He saw the man born blind - as someone about to display His GLORY through instant breakthrough. The prodigal didn't need a 12-step program. He needed a FATHER who ran toward him with POWER to restore instantly.
