"Prosperity preaching is manipulation. Biblical wealth is only about spiritual riches, not actual money."
How it sounds in your head: You've seen the scandals—pastors with private jets while members struggle. Surely Jesus meant 'treasures in heaven,' not actual bank accounts. Talking about money feels greasy and unspiritual.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious reaction to abuses that threw out covenant promises with the bathwater, making poverty sound holy.
You've watched televangelists beg for seed offerings and get exposed for fraud. The abuse was real, so you assume ALL financial teaching is suspect, leaving you 'spiritual but broke.'
Lost everything—children, wealth, health—through satanic attack, not his sin. After his testing, the Lord gave Job TWICE as much as he had before—14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, 1,000 female donkeys—ACTUAL PHYSICAL WEALTH as restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that biblical prosperity is only spiritual. IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 1:2 that God's will is for me to PROSPER IN ALL THINGS—health AND wealth—just as my soul prospers. Abuse by some doesn't cancel my covenant. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:11 that the Lord commands ABUNDANT PROSPERITY in the work of my hands. The BARAK blessing made Abraham 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold' (Genesis 13:2)—not just 'spiritually fulfilled.' I receive BOTH spiritual riches AND material provision as my inheritance in Christ.
The Father isn't offended by your needs—He's the one who notices sparrows and counts hairs. He gave Job DOUBLE after loss, not a sermon on being 'rich toward God.' Like the prodigal's father who threw a FEAST with the fattened calf—physical, actual, expensive celebration—your Father delights in TANGIBLE provision, not just warm feelings.
