"Nobody listens to old women—I have nothing relevant to offer younger generations."
How it sounds in your head: You're invisible. When you share wisdom, you see their eyes glaze over. They smile politely and ignore you. Your experience means nothing to them. You're the out-of-touch grandma, not the respected elder. Cultural relevance belongs to the young.
"The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed."
-- Titus 2:3-5Enemy using ageism and cultural youth-worship to silence the wisdom of the aged.
She offers advice and sees it dismissed. Church leadership doesn't ask her input. Her grandkids are polite but clearly don't value her perspective the way culture values youth influencers. She feels like a relic.
Deborah was a prophetess and judge—the entire nation of Israel came to HER for judgment and wisdom. She led military strategy, prophesied, and commanded generals. A woman in a patriarchal culture holding the highest position of authority because God elevated her wisdom.
I REFUSE the lie that nobody listens to old women. IT IS WRITTEN that older women are assigned as TEACHERS to admonish the young—my age is my credential, not my disqualification. I carry wisdom this generation desperately needs, and God will connect me to the ones hungry enough to receive it. IT IS WRITTEN in Titus 2:3 that I am a teacher of good things, and I walk in the Deborah anointing—an entire nation sought her wisdom. I am BARAK blessed—the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath—and my voice carries authority.
The Father is not waiting for culture to value you—He's already assigned you as a teacher and is preparing the hungry ones who will seek you out. He's running toward you with divine connections to young women starving for the wisdom only your years could produce, and they're going to call you blessed.
