"My wife's health issues during pregnancy were my fault as provider."
How it sounds in your head: She had complications, health scares, bed rest. I replay it even now—should I have worked less? Provided better insurance? Been home more? Did I fail to protect her when she was most vulnerable? Did I bring stress that hurt her and the baby?
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:13-14Enemy accusation attaching provider guilt to pregnancy complications, making you responsible for biological realities outside your control.
Men are told to protect and provide. When she suffered, I felt powerless. Society says a real man would've done more, been more, protected better. The guilt has haunted me for decades.
Job lost everything—children, health, wealth—and his friends said it was his fault. God rebuked the friends, vindicating Job. Job's suffering was not caused by his failure; it was the enemy's attack, and God restored DOUBLE.
I REFUSE the lie that my wife's pregnancy complications were my fault as provider. IT IS WRITTEN that God forms the child in the womb and covers them there—I am not God, and I am not responsible for biological realities outside my control. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The enemy brought complications; I brought provision, presence, and love. I did not fail. The BARAK blessing covered my household, and we came through. I am a GOOD provider, not because nothing went wrong, but because I stood by her. I REJECT guilt and RECEIVE the Father's approval.
The Father does not blame you for her complications. He sees you as a faithful husband who stood by her side, and He calls you GOOD. He runs toward you with compassion, not a list of what you should've done differently.
