"My skills are outdated and useless. I can't compete with what the market wants now."
How it sounds in your head: The job descriptions might as well be written in another language. You don't have the certifications they want. Your degree is from the wrong era. Everyone wants skills you don't have, and you're too tired to start over. You feel like a relic.
"So the LORD said to him, 'What is that in your hand?' He said, 'A rod.'"
-- Exodus 4:2Enemy using rapid market change to create obsolescence fear; world's shifting standards versus God's unchanging value of you.
Technology genuinely changed and the skills that made you valuable five years ago aren't on job postings anymore. Younger candidates have the new certifications and you feel constantly behind.
Shamgar had no sword, no army, no training—just an ox goad (a farming tool). With that 'outdated' agricultural implement, he killed 600 Philistines and delivered Israel. One sentence in Scripture, entire nation saved, wrong tool, right anointing.
I REFUSE the lie that my skills are useless. IT IS WRITTEN that God anoints what's ALREADY in my hand—He doesn't require what I don't have. Moses had a shepherd's rod. Shamgar had a farming tool. David had a sling. I have EXACTLY what I need because God gives the ANOINTING, not just the ability. My experience is not outdated—it's FOUNDATION for the new thing God is doing. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). The barak blessing makes me SOUGHT AFTER. The right opportunity is hunting ME.
The Father isn't looking at your resume comparing you to others. He's running toward you with an opportunity that requires EXACTLY your unique combination of skills and scars—something no one else can do. He's been preparing the fit while you've been feeling inadequate.
