"I'm unemployable because my body and mind are failing at this age."
How it sounds in your head: I can't remember things like I used to. My body hurts constantly. I'm slow, I'm tired, I can't keep up. Even if someone gave me a chance, I'd fail. My body has betrayed me and made me worthless.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Enemy attack tying worth to physical/mental capacity; world's lie that declining body equals declining value.
She feels her body's limitations daily. Every ache, every forgotten word, every slow movement feels like proof of worthlessness.
Moses said, 'I am slow of speech and slow of tongue'—he had a speech impediment. God's response? 'I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.' God used the man who couldn't speak to confront Pharaoh and deliver a nation. Weakness didn't disqualify; it SHOWCASED God.
I REFUSE the lie that my failing body makes me unemployable or worthless. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in my weakness—my limitations are the stage for His POWER. My body may be perishing outwardly, but inwardly I am being RENEWED day by day. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 103:5 that He 'satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.' Moses had a speech impediment and led a NATION. God doesn't need my strength—He provides HIS. I am a BRANCH abiding in the VINE; fruit comes from HIS life flowing through me, not from my physical capacity. The BARAK blessing isn't contingent on my health—it's based on COVENANT. I am blessed, provided for, and valuable RIGHT NOW, exactly as I am.
Your Father doesn't see your failing body and sigh in disappointment. He sees you and says, 'NOW I can show off—My power shines brightest in your weakness.' He's not waiting for you to be stronger. He's PRESENT in your weakness.
