"My retirement dreams are dead because of mistakes I've already made."
How it sounds in your head: You're young but you've already heard adults talk about their regrets—bad investments, missed opportunities, stupid decisions. You fear you'll make the same mistakes and ruin your future before it starts. One wrong move and it's over.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy condemnation using past or future mistakes to steal hope and create a spirit of defeat before life even begins.
You've seen adults live with regret, unable to recover from financial mistakes. The consequences seem permanent and irreversible.
He demanded his inheritance early, blew it ALL on wild living, ended up feeding pigs and starving. One decision to return home and the father RESTORED EVERYTHING—robe, ring, sandals, fattened calf, celebration—in minutes.
I REFUSE the lie that mistakes can destroy what God has planned. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES the years the locust has eaten—even wasted time gets redeemed. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob even when he DECEIVED his father; it protected Abraham even when he LIED to kings. My future isn't based on perfect decisions; it's based on COVENANT. The prodigal got full restoration while smelling like pigs. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ. None. My mistakes don't disqualify me; Jesus' blood QUALIFIES me. Philippians 1:6 says He who began a good work in me will COMPLETE it. God finishes what He starts, and He started a plan for my prosperity before I was born.
The Father doesn't look at your future mistakes with disappointment; He's already prepared redemption for them. Like the father watching for the prodigal, He's ready to RUN toward you with restoration the moment you turn toward Him, no matter what you've wasted.
