"My provision depends on my performance at work or side hustle success."
How it sounds in your head: If you get fired, you're done. If the business fails, you're screwed. Your income is 100% on you performing well enough to keep your boss happy or customers buying. One bad quarter and you're back at your parents' house.
"You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Source: Performance-based identity where your value equals your productivity - the same lie that keeps you from resting on Sabbath.
Your paycheck literally depends on showing up and performing. Miss enough days and you're fired. The connection between work and money seems absolute.
For forty years, manna appeared every morning regardless of their behavior that week. They didn't perform for provision - it showed up based on God's covenant faithfulness, not their obedience level.
I REFUSE the lie that my provision depends on my performance. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me the POWER to get wealth to establish His covenant. I am under the BARAK blessing that protected and prospered Abraham even when he LIED twice - my provision isn't based on my perfection. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and field. Christ redeemed me from poverty's curse so Abraham's blessing flows to me by COVENANT, not performance. My Father provides.
Your Father fed a million people in a desert with no crops, no jobs, no economy for forty years. He's not nervous about your career path or business plan.
