"God helps those who help themselves - my provision depends on my hustle."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard it your whole life: God won't do for you what you won't do for yourself. Work harder, hustle more, then maybe God will add His blessing.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
-- Ephesians 2:8-9Source: World's self-reliance disguised as biblical wisdom - this phrase isn't even in Scripture, it's Benjamin Franklin.
Every success you've had came through grinding effort. Rest feels irresponsible. Depending on God without working feels like presumption.
After 400 years of slavery owning nothing, God had Egyptians GIVE them gold, silver and clothing in one night. They didn't hustle, negotiate, or earn it - God granted them favor and they plundered Egypt without a battle.
I REFUSE the lie that provision depends on my hustle. IT IS WRITTEN that salvation and blessing are by GRACE through faith, NOT of works. I am a BRANCH abiding in the VINE - fruit comes from CONNECTION, not production. The BARAK blessing gave Israel the wealth of Egypt in ONE NIGHT without working for it. IT IS WRITTEN that apart from Christ I can do NOTHING - dependence is the design. My provision flows from the Father's nature, not my effort.
The Father isn't waiting for you to work harder so He can add a tip. He's running toward you with provision BEFORE you lift a finger, because generosity is WHO HE IS, not a response to your hustle.
