"My prostate cancer history means I'm permanently marked—always 'the cancer guy' in everyone's mind."
How it sounds in your head: Every checkup brings dread. Even in remission, it defines how people see me. Can't escape the label. It's on every form, every conversation with doctors, every worried look from family.
"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.'"
-- Revelation 21:5Medical system creates permanent surveillance categories, but Jesus erased the leper's 'unclean' label with one touch.
Ongoing PSA monitoring and cancer survivorship language keeps diagnosis front-and-center for years. Culture of 'awareness' reinforces identity connection to disease.
Ten lepers were permanently marked 'UNCLEAN'—had to shout it everywhere they went, separated from family, labeled for life by law. Jesus said 'Go show yourselves to the priests,' and as they went they were CLEANSED—the permanent label was erased INSTANTLY, no gradual process.
I REFUSE the lie that cancer is a permanent mark on my identity. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes ALL THINGS NEW, and these words are true and faithful—that includes my body, my story, my label. I am NOT 'the cancer guy'—I am a NEW CREATION in Christ; old things have passed away. The ten lepers were labeled 'unclean' for LIFE by law, and Jesus erased it in ONE MOMENT. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that promised Abraham's descendants would be blessed even when they were slaves in Egypt—my past diagnosis doesn't disqualify me from present breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—not from cancer, not from medical history, not from anything. HIS label is the only one that sticks: BELOVED.
The Father doesn't keep a file of your diagnoses—He keeps a book with your name written in it before the foundation of the world, and that's the ONLY record that matters. The prodigal's past didn't come up at the party; the Father was too busy celebrating the SON WHO CAME HOME.
