"I'm the guy with the bad back, the bum knee, the condition everyone accommodates"
How it sounds in your head: Everyone knows not to ask you to help move furniture. Your buddies make jokes about your 'old man back.' Your kids know Dad can't wrestle like he used to. You've become the guy people accommodate, work around, feel sorry for. Your limitation is your reputation.
"Let the weak say, 'I am strong.'"
-- Joel 3:10Social agreement with limited identity, others' expectations reinforcing disability as permanent reality.
Years of saying 'I can't because of my back/knee/whatever' has trained everyone to see you as limited. Their low expectations feel like kindness but reinforce your identity. You've become known for what you CAN'T do rather than who you ARE.
He was crippled in both feet from age five, lived in obscurity defined by disability. David brought him to the king's table where he ate DAILY—he was still physically lame, but his IDENTITY was no longer 'cripple'—it was KING'S FRIEND. And ultimately, covenant restored what injury took.
I REFUSE the identity of 'the guy with the bad back' or any label of limitation. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 3:10—'Let the weak say I AM STRONG.' I declare STRENGTH over every joint, tendon, muscle, bone. I am not the guy people accommodate; I am the guy who carries the BARAK blessing of Deuteronomy 28—blessed in body, blessed coming and going. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:31 that those who wait on the LORD renew their strength, mount up with wings like eagles, RUN and not be weary. My reputation is STRONG, WHOLE, CAPABLE because resurrection life floods every cell. I am not limited; I am STRENGTHENED with all might.
The Father doesn't see 'the guy with the bad back.' He sees His STRONG SON, already whole, already running, already wrestling with grandkids. While others are accommodating your limitations, He's calling you to the table as ROYAL FAMILY with full access and zero restrictions.
