How it sounds in your head: People keep saying 'God's teaching you something' or 'there's a reason for this.' Maybe if you can figure out the lesson, you can graduate from this. Maybe you're supposed to be more patient, more grateful, more dependent on Him. Maybe you haven't learned what you're supposed to yet.

Well-meaning Christians have said this to you repeatedly. Romans 8:28 says 'all things work together for good,' which sounds like God orchestrated this. The idea that suffering is random feels scarier than the idea that it has purpose, so 'God's teaching you' feels more comforting than 'the enemy attacked you.'
Blind from birth, disciples asked 'who sinned, this man or his parents, THAT he was born blind?'—same religious thinking that disease is punishment/lesson. Jesus said 'NEITHER—this happened so the works of God could be displayed.' Then He IMMEDIATELY healed him. No lesson to learn, no sin to fix, just INSTANT HEALING to display God's power.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this disease to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus healed ALL oppressed by the DEVIL. Sickness is demonic oppression, not divine education. My Father doesn't make me sick to make me holy—He HEALS me because I'm already holy IN CHRIST. The BARAK blessing doesn't include disease as a teaching tool; it includes DELIVERANCE from disease. IT IS WRITTEN: Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, in whom there is NO variation or shadow of turning. He doesn't toggle between giving health and giving sickness. He's the SAME yesterday, today, forever—and yesterday He was HEALING. I reject the doctrine that makes God the problem instead of the solution.
The Father isn't withholding healing until you learn the right lesson. He's not a cosmic teacher using disease as curriculum. He's a HEALER running toward you while religious voices say 'wait, maybe He's trying to teach you something.' He's the Father who doesn't give you a snake when you ask for fish, and sickness is ALWAYS the snake. He has one lesson about disease: 'I HATE it, and I sent My Son to destroy it.'
