"I need to accept this as my new normal and stop hoping for something different."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone keeps saying 'acceptance is the first step to peace.' Your parents, your doctors, even your youth pastor said 'God's given you grace for this season.' So maybe faith means giving up hope for healing and just learning to live with it.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
-- Hebrews 10:23Religious spirit masquerading as wisdom, convincing you that surrender to sickness is the same as surrender to God.
Fighting feels exhausting when nothing changes yet. 'Acceptance' sounds spiritual and mature, like you're being brave instead of desperate.
This guy had been sick for 38 YEARS—literally longer than most parents have been alive—and everyone accepted it as his normal, permanent reality. Jesus asked 'Do you WANT to be made well?' and IMMEDIATELY he was healed, picked up his mat, and walked away from 38 years in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that I should accept sickness as normal. IT IS WRITTEN to hold fast my hope without wavering because HE IS FAITHFUL. My 'new normal' is resurrection life flowing through my body. I reject 'acceptance' as a religious substitute for faith. The blessing of Abraham is my covenant right—health is my inheritance, not sickness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus bore my sicknesses and carried my pains—He already accepted them so I could reject them. I am the HEALED, not the hopeless.
The Father isn't asking you to 'make peace with sickness'—He already made war on it at the cross and WON. He's not waiting for you to stop hoping; He's hoping you'll start RECEIVING what He already finished.
