"My prayer isn't being answered because I don't have enough faith."
How it sounds in your head: If I just believed harder, stronger, more perfectly, it would happen. My doubt is the problem. I'm trying to believe, but the doubt creeps in, and that's why nothing changes. Faith is the missing ingredient, and I can't seem to manufacture enough of it.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Religion making faith a WORK you produce instead of a GIFT you receive—turning trust into striving.
Every healing testimony ends with 'they had great faith,' making you analyze your belief level like it's a gas tank you need to fill. When nothing changes, you assume your faith meter is too low.
Doubted the resurrection, said he wouldn't believe unless he put his fingers in the nail holes. Jesus didn't reject him or call him 'little faith'—He SHOWED UP, invited Thomas to touch, and said 'Do not be unbelieving, but believing.' Jesus met him IN his doubt.
I REFUSE the lie that my breakthrough depends on perfect faith. IT IS WRITTEN that faith is a GIFT from God, not a work I produce. Even mustard-seed faith moves mountains, and even mixed faith with unbelief moved Jesus to heal. My confidence isn't in the STRENGTH of my faith—it's in the FAITHFULNESS of my God. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with the Abrahamic BARAK, and Abraham's faith was counted as righteousness even when he laughed at God's promise. I don't need perfect belief—I have a perfect COVENANT sealed in Jesus' blood. My answer comes by HIS faithfulness, not mine.
Your Father doesn't grade your faith like a performance review. He sees even your SMALLEST trust and runs to meet it. Like the father who didn't wait for his prodigal to have 'perfect repentance'—he RAN while the son was still rehearsing his speech.
