"God is silent because there's unconfessed sin blocking my prayers from reaching Him."
How it sounds in your head: I've confessed everything I can think of, but the silence continues. There must be something I'm missing—some sin I haven't identified, some issue I haven't dealt with. Maybe it's unforgiveness I don't know about. Maybe it's pride I can't see. Whatever it is, it's creating a barrier between me and God.
"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
-- Hebrews 10:19-22Religious teaching that sin creates a barrier between believers and God, negating the finished work of the cross and Christ's continual intercession.
She's been taught Psalm 66:18 ('If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear') without the context of the New Covenant. Every moment of unanswered prayer feels like proof of hidden sin.
Manasseh sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led the nation into witchcraft and abominations. When he finally prayed from captivity, God HEARD HIM and restored him to his kingdom.
I REFUSE the lie that my sin creates a barrier God's blood can't cover. IT IS WRITTEN that I have boldness to enter God's presence by the blood of Jesus, not by perfect behavior. The blood of Christ speaks better than my sin, louder than my mistakes. I am under the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham's lies, Jacob's deception, Judah's immorality. IT IS WRITTEN that there is now NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My access to the Father is not based on my confession checklist but on Christ's finished work. I draw near NOW with full assurance because His blood has made me clean, and I receive breakthrough because of His righteousness, not mine.
Your Father isn't standing behind a barrier of your sin, arms crossed, waiting for you to find the magic confession that removes the wall. Jesus DEMOLISHED that wall. Your Father is running toward you with the sin still on you, covering you with righteousness before you finish confessing, embracing you while you still smell like the pig pen.
