"My miscarriages meant God was punishing me for something I did wrong."
How it sounds in your head: I lost three babies before they were born. For decades I've wondered what sin brought that curse—was it something in my past? Was I being disciplined? Those little graves haunt me even now.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Religion teaches miscarriage as divine punishment, making tragedy evidence of hidden sin or spiritual deficiency requiring atonement.
The timing aligned with difficult seasons—each loss felt like judgment. Pastors mentioned 'hidden sin' and she's carried guilt for seventy years, wondering what she did to deserve losing them.
She had five failed marriages and was living with a sixth man—clear 'sin' by religious standards. Jesus didn't mention punishment or karma, only offered living water and called her into ministry. Instant restoration, no condemnation discussion.
I REFUSE the lie that my miscarriages were punishment. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus said suffering is NOT because of sin but to reveal God's works. There is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ—not then, not now, not ever. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ took every curse so I live under the BARAK blessing. Those losses were not judgment; they were heartbreak in a broken world. My babies are safe with Jesus, and I am completely forgiven, completely loved. The Father's arms held both me and them through it all.
The Father sees you like the woman at the well—not counting your failures but offering living water and calling you beloved. He wept with you at every loss, held those babies Himself, and never once considered punishment. His heart was breaking WITH you, not against you.
