"I need to have everything figured out with my body before I can be used by God."
How it sounds in your head: How can God use someone whose body is such a mess? I need to get my health in order first, regulate my cycles, lose weight, clear my skin—then maybe I'll be worthy of being used.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious performance mentality that says you must clean up before God can move, combined with world's perfectionism about female bodies being 'ready.'
Church seems to showcase women who have it all together. If I can't even manage my own body's basic functions, how could God possibly use me for anything significant?
Rahab was an ACTIVE PROSTITUTE when God used her to hide the spies and change history—she's in the Messianic line. God didn't wait for her to quit her profession; He used her WHILE she was still in the brothel.
I REFUSE the lie that I must fix my body before God can use me. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in weakness—my physical struggles are the stage for His power, not disqualification. God uses the weak and foolish things to confound the wise. IT IS WRITTEN that I am His workmanship created for good works which He prepared beforehand—those works don't wait for perfect health. Rahab was used WHILE STILL A PROSTITUTE. The prodigal was celebrated WHILE STILL SMELLING LIKE PIGS. My body's current state doesn't delay God's purpose—it SHOWCASES His power. The BARAK blessing protected murderers and liars; it certainly covers hormonal chaos.
The Father isn't waiting for you to regulate your cycles or fix your body before He uses you—He's already prepared works for you to walk in RIGHT NOW. He's running toward you like the prodigal's father, ready to put the ring on your finger while you're still a mess, declaring you READY because HE says so.
